Vehicle Rear-Vision Systems
Gentex is pursuing the development of automotive rear-vision systems. These systems would use tiny cameras as sensors to monitor driving conditions, helping the driver avoid potential hazards.
Variably Dimmable Windows
We're also researching how to bring our electrochromic technology to windows primarily for architectural applications. Windows that dim with light or on demand are perfect as energy-saving windows for commercial and residential construction. In addition, they could be used for office building conference rooms.
Fire Protection Products
Gentex also continues to improve its fire safety products, experimenting with lower in-rush current signals, strobes with expanded candela power and carbon monoxide detectors. We're also developing multi-feature smoke detectors and other life-safety appliances.
